Squirtle Amigurumi XD

Sup humans,

So this is my first original pattern! ^~^ I made this because i couldn't find any free online patterns for a squirtle that I liked, so I made my own using different simple shapes and it turned out quite well. Hope you guys like it! XD

Squrtle Pattern

Materials:

YARN {type:I used acrylic but any should be fine}:

Light Blue

Light Yellow

Brown

White

Black

Black Beads/safety eyes

Stuffing

Tapestry Needle

Scissors

3mm {Japan:5/0, U.K.:11} size crochet hook

Stitch marker {A Paper Clip is fine}

Embroider a mouth

HEAD: Light Blue

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)

R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)

R4: [3 sc, inc] around (30 sc)

R5-R8: sc around (30sc)

R9: [3 sc, dec] around (24 sc)

Begin Stuffing

R10: [2 sc, dec] around (18 sc)

R11: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)

R12: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed, leave end tail for sewing on.

BODY: Light Yellow

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)

R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)

R4-R7: sc around (24 sc)

R8: [2sc, dec] around (18 sc)

Begin Stuffing

R9: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)

R10: dec around, slp st into first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed. 

ARMS AND LEGS: Light Blue (Make 4)

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)

R2-R3: Sc around (12 sc)

R4: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

SHELL: Brown and White

Magic circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)

R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)

R4: [3 sc, inc] around, slp st in first sc (30 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

R5 {using white}: fl sc around, slp st in first sc (30 sc)

Finish off

TAIL: Blue

Magic circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)

R3: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)

R4-R9: sc around (12)

R10: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

Assembly:

Look at the pictures for guidance

Sew head to body, both parts up right, side by side

Sew the shell with the brown yarn (end tail), underneath the white onto the body

Sew on arms and limbs, a row under the shell

Sew on tail at the back of the body and fold it to make it look curled

Sew on balk beads/safety eyes for eyes

Use black yarn for mouth in a “v” shape
