Meowzel ^~^


Sup humans,

So to clarify a Meowzel is a creature from my world it is a cat-dragon and they come in many different element types. This one here is a flame Meowzel! XD Pretty simple pattern, it's very similar to the Squirtle pattern I made. Hope this finds you well! ^~^

Meowzel Pattern

Materials:

YARN {type:I used acrylic but any should be fine}:
Ginger
Black

Black Beads/safety eyes
Stuffing
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
3mm {Japan:5/0, U.K.:11} size crochet hook
Stitch marker {A Paper Clip is fine}
3 pipe cleaners
Bits of coloured felt

Your inner crooked meowzel ^~^

Need to know:
Chain Stitch
Single Crochet
Slip Stitch
Increase
Decrease
Work Round
Change Colours
Sewing on parts
Embroider a mouth
Blanket Stitch

HEAD: Ginger

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)
R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)
R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)
R4: [3 sc, inc] around (30 sc)
R5-R8: sc around (30sc)
R9: [3 sc, dec] around (24 sc)
Begin Stuffing
R10: [2 sc, dec] around (18 sc)
R11: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)
R12: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed, leave end tail for sewing on.

BODY: Ginger

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)
R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)
R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)
R4-R7: sc around (24 sc)
R8: [2sc, dec] around (18 sc)
Begin Stuffing
R9: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)
R10: dec around, slp st into first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed. 

ARMS AND LEGS: Ginger (Make 4)

Magic Circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

R1: Ch 1, inc around (12 sc)
R2-R3: Sc around (12 sc)
R4: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

EARS: Ginger (Make 2)

Magic Circle, 4 sc, slp st in first sc (4 sc)

R1: Ch1, [sc, inc] around (6 sc)
R2: [2 sc, inc] around (8 sc)
R3: [3 sc, inc] around, slp st in first sc (10 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

TAIL: Ginger

Magic circle, 6 sc, slp st in first sc (6sc)

R1: Ch1, sc around (6 sc)
R2-R6: sc around (6sc)
R7: sc around, slp st in first sc (6sc)

Fold end of a pipe cleaner put it in tail-tube, cut 1/2cm away from end of tail-tube, fold the 1/2cm in.

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

Assembly:

Look at the pictures for guidance

Sew head to body, both parts up right, side by side, head a bit higher than body
Sew on limbs on the “belly"
Sew on tail at the back of the body and fold it to make it look curled
Sew on ears on the top opposite sides of the head
Sew on balk beads/safety eyes for eyes
Use black yarn for mouth in a upside down “∆” shape
Thread pipe cleaner through back and fold
Cut a pipe cleaner in half, fold each half in half and wrap the half way mark on the bend of the back threaded pipe cleaner.
Cut another pipe cleaner in half, thread pipe cleaner through backs of ears and curl into horn shape
Cut felt triangles, matching the back threaded pipe cleaner’s shape.
Blanket stitch felt along each pipe
Cut jaggedly at the base of the felt wing.
[Note: All ends of pipe cleaners folded in]
