Purple Monkey ^o^

Sorry it's been a while since the last post... I've been really busy with school work these days...

Anyway, my friend asked me to make her a purple monkey [she has always liked purple monkeys] She also has a purple monkey phone case which looks like this:

This case is like really squishy and rubbery and protected her phone well. She dropped it down the elevator crack [20 floors] and it's unscratched! The only damage is that her home button doesn't work. XD

Now heres the purple monkey pattern

YARN {type:I used acrylic but any should be fine}:

Purple

Light Yellow

Black Beads/safety eyes

Stuffing

Tapestry Needle

Scissors

3.5mm {Japan:6/0, U.K.:9} size crochet hook

Stitch marker {A Paper Clip is fine}

MOUTH: Light yellow

Ch 5

R1: 2 Sc into 2nd chain from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 

turn,

sc in next 3 ch (10 sc)

R2: inc in 1st sc, sc in next 4 sc, inc in sc, 4 sc (12 sc)

R3: inc in first 2 sc, 4 sc, inc in next 2 sc, 4 sc (16 sc)

R4: Sc around, slp stitch in first sc (16 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

EYES: Light Yellow [Make 2}

Magic Circle, 6sc, slp st in first sc

R1: Ch1, inc around, slp st in first sc (12 sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

HEAD: Purple

Magic Circle, 6sc, slp st in first sc

R1: Ch1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: [sc, inc] around (18 sc)

R3: [2 sc, inc] around (24 sc)

R4: [3 sc, inc] around (30 sc)

R5: [4 sc, inc] around (36 sc)

R6-R12: sc around (36 sc)

R13: [4 sc, dec] around (30 sc)

R14: [3 sc, dec] around (24 sc)

Begin Stuffing

R15: [2 sc, dec] around (18 sc)

R16: [sc, dec] around (12 sc)

R17: dec around, slp st in first sc (6 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed, leave end tail for sewing on.

EAR: Light Yellow [Make 2}

Magic Circle, 6sc, slp st in first sc

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

BODY: Purple

Magic Circle, 6sc, slp st in first sc

Start with purple

Change to light yellow

R5: Ch1, sc around (7 sc)

R6: [sc, inc] 3 times, sc

R7: Sc around (10 sc)

R8: Dec around (5 sc)

Finish off, stitch opening closed.

LEGS: Light yellow and purple [Make 2]

Start with yellow

Magic Circle, 6sc, slp st in first sc

R1: Ch1, inc around (12 sc)

R2: Sc around (12 sc)

R3: [sc, dec] around, slp st in first sc (8 sc)

Change to purple

R4-R6: Sc around slp st in first sc (8sc)

Finish off, leave end tail for sewing on.

TAIL: Purple

R1: Ch1, sc around (6 sc)

R2-R6: sc around (6sc)

R7: sc around, slp st in first sc (6sc)

ASSENMBLY:

Look at pictures for reference

Sew the mouth and eye parts together like a Mickey mouse shape but keep the eyes connected to each other.

Sew safety eyes into centre of each eye.

Sew the mouth and eye parts onto the face, add a bit of stuffing in the mouth.

Cut a little tongue shape out of red felt and stitch onto the mouth.

Sew ears on to the sides of the head.

Sew the body under the head.

Sew arms onto the body, in between the head and the body.

Sew on legs in a sitting position.

Sew on tail at the bottom, centre of the back.
